Lower interest rates translate into greater affordability for home buyers and for example, a 100,000 loan at 3.40% interest results in principal and interest payments of less than $500.00 per month. Even with taxes and insurance payments, this is still well under $1000/mo for PITI (principal, interest, taxes, and insurance).
