For local residents as well as out of town visitors, VA Beach vacation attractions offers a myriad of fun and family oriented things to see, do and experience! So if you are thinking of visiting the area or considering vacationing at home this summer, Virginia Beach offers something for everyone from historical sites, museums, and theme parks, to the arts, world-class shopping and dining and last but not least, all the charms that the sun, sand, and sea have to offer!

History and Heritage

The Old
Cape Henry Lighthouse
Open to the public on a seasonal basis and located within Fort Story military base

Cross at Cape Henry
This cross is a memorial to commemorate the first landfall at Cape Henry by the colonists bound for the Jamestown Settlement. It was raised by the colonists to give thanks to God for safe passage across the sea.

Francis Land House Historic Site
A 200 year old plantation home open to the public for guided tours.

Lynnhaven House
An 18th century historic home built in 1725.

Old Coast Guard Station
The Old Coast Guard Station honors Virginia’s coastal communities and maritime heritage. The museum is located on Atlantic Avenue on 24th Street.

Association for Research and Enlightenment
A non-profit organization founded by Edgar Cayce also known as “the Seer of Virginia Beach.”

Contemporary Art Center of Virginia
The leading contemporary art institution in Virginia.

Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center

Virginia Musical Theatre
Virginia Musical Theatre (VMT) has been designated “"The Official Professional Theatre of the City of Virginia Beach" 1995. VMT has been bring musical theatre to Hampton Roads for over 17 seasons.


Shopping

Lynnhaven Mall

Located just 10 minutes from the oceanfront, Lynnhaven Mall has over over 180 stores, 17 restaurants and eateries, and a state-of-the-art AMC Theatres with 18 screens and all stadium-style seating.

Virginia Beach Town Center

The Town Center area of Virginia Beach spans over 17 city blocks showcasing upscale retail shops, fine dining, class A business properties and luxury residential properties.

Pembroke Mall

Located directly across the street from Town Center, this mall opened in 1966 and was the first shopping mall in the Hampton Roads and has over 100 stores.

The Shops at Hilltop

Located 5 minutes from the oceanfront, the Shops at Hilltop calls itself “A Unique Virginia Beach shopping experience!” This is boutique shopping, specialty stores and restaurants at it’s best.
