History and Heritage
The Old Cape Henry Lighthouse
Open to the public on a seasonal basis and located within Fort Story military base
Cross at Cape Henry
This cross is a memorial to commemorate the first landfall at Cape Henry by the colonists bound for the Jamestown Settlement. It was raised by the colonists to give thanks to God for safe passage across the sea.
Francis Land House Historic Site
A 200 year old plantation home open to the public for guided tours.
Lynnhaven House
An 18th century historic home built in 1725.
Old Coast Guard Station
The Old Coast Guard Station honors Virginia’s coastal communities and maritime heritage. The museum is located on Atlantic Avenue on 24th Street.
